Most of us usually heard about 301 redirection but what is it …??? In simple words we can say “301 REDIRECTION” is the most efficient and Search Engine Friendly method for webpage redirection. 301 redirection interpreted as “Moved Permanent”. Search engines also support this redirection. It's not that hard to implement and it should preserve your search engine rankings for that particular page. This is the safest option if you have to change file names. Implementation Of .htaccess:

1. In the directory you want to redirect, create (or edit if it already exists) the .htaccess file.
